Stage for Change
The Stage for Change Initiative is a college campus program that immerses students, faculty and staff in the creation of a strategic campaign to utilize counter-narratives, theatre, dialogue and activism as ways to build a more inclusive and equitable community.
Stories have the power to bring people together, break down barriers, challenge and inspire. The purpose of the Stage for Change Initiative is to create a sustainable process on college campuses for unheard and underrepresented stories on race to be shared and processed. Through the program students are engaged in catalyzing the stories within their communities to deepen dialogue on race at the intersection of class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, mental health, etc., as well as employing strategies that use stories at the center of building more inclusive campuses.
By starting a Stage for Change Initiative on your campus together we
Encourage empathy amongst students and deepen dialogue on race at the intersection of class, gender, sexual orientation, status, etc.
Create sustainable platforms for students to share and process lived experiences of racism and oppression.
Increase students' knowledge of other backgrounds and experiences.
Provide students with the tools and resources to become change agents for inclusion.
