We believe in the potential of young people of color and their stories to transform the world. We understand that young people of color are inundated with negative stereotypes, images and myths. Not only can these have harmful impacts on their social and emotional health, but when we allow them to continue, it perpetuates racism, sexism, and other forms of oppression within our communities. We need to support our young people of color to build up the strength to resist the misrepresentations about who they are and who they will become.

The goal of this program is to advance Young People of Color by guiding them to take ownership of their story and to activate them to use their counter-narratives toward building a more equitable, just, and inclusive community. We are here support YPOC as they find their story and who you they are in order for them to define who they want to become. These counter-narratives they hold include stories that are often silenced, erased, invalidated, or not celebrated. In turn, we will equip them to challenge the mainstream harmful narratives with their counter-narratives in creative and impactful ways.

We will create a community where young people of color can explore their history, learn from the counter-narratives of those around them, and gain tools to affect change. Building our counter-narratives is the starting point to build a more inclusive and equitable world.

We provide workshops on exploring, developing, sharing counter-narratives for colleges, organizations, and high schools, and community groups.
